🎙️Are you tired of teaching your child Chinese? —Maybe all he needs is "company"

In this episode of Lele TALK, Sunny (Spot of Sunshine Founder) shared her experience of retaining her Chinese language skills as a second-generation immigrant, and how she accompanied her children to learn Chinese. After Sunny immigrated to the United States at the age of 8, she still communicated with her family in Chinese, which she felt close to, and continued to be exposed to Taiwanese comics, Japanese dramas, Chinese pop songs and other things she liked, and established an immersive language environment through these interests.
Sunny emphasized that parents do not need to bear the pressure of "teaching the language", but should think about how to "accompany" their children and integrate Chinese into their lives. In addition, she also talked about the differences in teaching methods overseas and in Taiwan, and that a suitable learning path should be established. She encouraged immigrant families to start with daily festivals, reading together, etc., to accompany their children to steadily learn Chinese, and to establish parent-child relationships and cultural foundations.
