Series Q&A 7.2 "Dynamic Text Activity" in conjunction with the LeLe Book Series: Game

๏ปฟSimple tabletop games:

(1) bingo word game
---Work with your children to make a large cardboard card with a nine-square grid.
---The content of each grid can be ready-made word cards, words on the back of the card, or even short sentences. You can also write it yourself, photocopy the text part of the story book, or cut it into word cards. Try to use the cards you already have, because it is to "review" the words in the story.
---Then use soft clay stickers to stick the card to the big card with a nine-square grid. If you use it multiple times, you can also choose the text of "different stories" to play the bbingo game each time to review the text.

(2) Origami: East, South, North, and South (not sure, teach on the spot, easy to learn)
After the origami is done, adults can help write the four words southeast, northwest, and southeast. There are 8 words in the 8-square part.
For example, words that appear in conjunction with different themes: 8 actions for the other party to perform.
8 names of foods that children want to eat, each other can eat one piece.
8 animal names, the other party performs the words/actions/sounds of the animals walking, etc.

(3) Ladder game
---Make your own ladder game with your children. Big card + one dice.
The ladder can be horizontal or vertical, straight or curved, from the starting point to the end point, grid by grid, as many grids as you like. Grid content can range from simple to complex.
For example: the text in the grid can also be used with our book series. It is a word/word/sentence card of any book or a theme. If you can read it, you will take one step forward (or other reward methods. If you cannot read it, you will take one step back. Design it yourself) and see who reaches the finish line first.

(4) A card with B card game
It is best if the words on the A and B cards are of different colors (or the words on the white paper and the black words are pasted on different colors of paper), so that the children can easily distinguish them. Donโ€™t use too many at a time, just a few A cards and a few B cards, and give them directly to match them. .
For example: food-themed story: A-word card: west/grass/apple. B word card: fruit/melon/berry
(You can also give a few more B cards, as long as the combination is reasonable. For example, if the A card has multiple "wood", match it with "papaya")
       Story #8 A-Word Card: Candles/Cake/Sing. B card: song/cut/blow

(5) Rush reading game
No preparation is required. A stack of word cards is placed face down in the middle of the players. Turn over a word card. Whoever reads it out first will get the word card. In the end, the one with the most word cards is the winner.

(6) Word/word card classification game
Use some of the existing word cards with different story themes and ask the children to help sort them:
(Decide how many cards to give at a time depending on the childโ€™s level)
----Food/play/use/color/clothing/
----What can be eaten vs. what cannot be eaten
----Moving vs. immobile
----Something you have at home/something you donโ€™t have at home.
----Flying vs. non-flying, etc.

(7) Word Card Sentence Arrangement (Sentence Reorganization) Game
Self-made reorganized word card ---" Photocopy the text on a certain page of any Lele story, cut it into 2 or 3 parts and it's done.
Reminder: just start with 2 or 3 cards. As the difficulty increases, you can add "a few" more words on each word card, but the number of cards should be increased to about 4. (To increase the sense of language, donโ€™t cut the sentence into many pieces)

(8) The simplest guessing game when reading
When reading, use a small post it to cover a certain word/word on a certain page and let the child guess the covered word/word.

(9) Search for words and sentences
There are grids of 3X3, 4X4, 5X5, etc. on a piece of paper. Each grid has a Chinese character (can be cut and pasted after computer printing, or written directly), but there is one or several words or a sentence hidden in it. The words and sentences can be connected into a line (curve or straight line) , let the children find these words or sentences.

***In the production of any tabletop game, please try to involve children. If children or adults have other self-created games, they should be encouraged to help complete them.
