📬 Lele Penpal Mission Launched! (Event Details)

Thank you for participating in the Lele Pen Pal Project. This is an exciting event. 😊 In the era of fast digitalization, the purpose of this Lele Pen Pal event is to allow children to have the opportunity to practice output when reading or listening to Lele books, and experience the slow speed of communication, encouraging and arousing children's curiosity. In the fast and concrete social atmosphere, we leave some space for children, so that they can not do anything, but can imagine and start to create. ✉️ Please note that we will send you another email with your matching family information. If you do not receive it, please contact us as soon as possible!

The event timeline is as follows:

6. Anticipation

📅Wait 2~3 weeks

Looking forward to receiving letters from new friends!

You can decide how long to wait (about three weeks) by yourself. If you do not receive the other party's letter, parents can print out a digital copy and put it in your own mailbox.

The families who received the letters, parents and children happily read the letters from their pen pals together.

Each family should cherish the Lele family assigned to them and build good friendships with each other. Before that, there are a few things that everyone should follow:

  1. Since we are an overseas family, sometimes mail gets lost and we can print out digital copies for our children.

Therefore, after parents send the physical letter, please be sure to upload the letter content to【LeLe Penpal Digital Copy】Digital copy form.

  1. Please be kind and considerate when writing letters
  2. Families who participate in the program for a short period of time will be matched with a form to be filled out for a short period of time (one month). If the short-term program needs to be extended, the waiting time may vary depending on the consent of the other party or the registration of a new long-term family.
  3. For families who have been involved for a long time, if the child does not want to write that month, the parents can write to the other child.

Let the other child receive the mail, increasing the chances of learning reading and literacy

  1. The content of the letter can only be sent in paper form (letter paper, origami, etc.)
  2. Please do not send photos or other personal privacy documents.

If you want to meet your pen pal, you can ask your child to draw a picture of himself or herself. You can also participate in the video activities held by Lele official website to meet your pen pal. For example: art class or Show & Tell

  1. Please be creative with the content of the letter. You can print the words from Lele's book and let your child cut and paste them (no need to write with a pen)
  2. We encourage parents to read the Lele Listening and Reading series and create freely with their children.

Please take this opportunity to guide your children to write letters and addresses politely. If you don’t know what to write, you can refer to the Lele Listening and Reading Series or related activities in the e-newsletter. For example 1: The child wants to know what the other person likes? Lead the child to formulate a question. At the beginning, you can focus on the word "what do you like?" In this way, the person who receives the letter can probably guess the meaning and receive something the other person likes next time. For example 2: The child draws a picture of the whole family going out. In the letter written by the parents, you can add where to go that day? What to do? The recipient can see the picture and have additional explanations, which increases the chance of [reading and literacy]

  1. Families that are unable to continue interacting will be notified to Lele Mailbox and adjustments will be made.

Please work together to protect and support each other's children. Thank you all for participating in the Lele Pen Pal Project. This is an activity we have all been looking forward to. 😊In this fast-paced digital era, the purpose of the Lele Pen Pal activity is to give children an opportunity to practice output after shared reading or reading the Lele Listening Book Series, and to experience the slower pace of correspondence. We hope to encourage and spark children's curiosity. In a society that is fast and concrete, we want to leave some blank space for children, allowing them to do nothing, to imagine, and to begin creating.✉️ Please note, there will also be another email sent today is the detail for your allocated family. If you did not receive their detail, please contact us immediately.

6. Waiting with Excitement

📅Wait for 2~3 weeks

Look forward to receiving a letter from your new friend!

You can decide how long to wait (about three weeks is recommended). If the letter doesn't arrive, parents can print out the digital copy and place it in your home mailbox.

When the letter arrives, parents and children can enjoy reading the pen pal's letter together.

Please cherish the Lele family you have been paired with and work together to build a good friendship. Before we begin, there are a few guidelines for everyone to follow:

  1. Since we are all overseas families and mail can sometimes get lost, please print out a digital copy for your child. After sending the physical letter, parents must upload the letter content to the [Uploading digital copy for Lele Pen Pal Project] form.
  1. Please keep your letters friendly and caring.
  2. Families participating short-term will be paired with others who have also registered as short-term (one month). If you wish to extend the short-term participation, you must wait for the other party's agreement or for a new long-term family to sign up; the waiting time is uncertain.
  3. For long-term participants, if your child does not want to write a letter for the month, parents can write to the other child. This ensures that the other child can still receive a letter and increases opportunities for reading and literacy.
  4. Letters may only include paper items (letter paper, origami, etc.). Please do not send photos or documents involving personal privacy.
  5. If you wish to show your penpal what you look like, children may draw themselves.

Please participate in official Lele online events to meet your penpal, such as art classes or Show & Tell.

  1. Be creative with your letter content. You may print words from Lele books for children to cut and paste (handwriting is not required).
  2. If you are unable to continue participating, please notify the Lele mailbox for further arrangements.
  3. We encourage parents to also read theLe Le Listening and Reading System and create freely with their children.

Use this opportunity to guide your child in writing polite letters and addresses. If you are unsure what to write, you can refer to activities in the Le Le Listening and Reading System or newsletter. For example:

  1. If your child wants to know what the other likes, help them come up with questions. Start with key words like “Do you like…?” so the recipient can guess the meaning. Next time, you'll know what the Lele Pen Pal likes.
  2. If your child draws a picture of a family outing, you can add a letter explaining where you went and what you did. The recipient can look at the picture and read the explanation, increasing reading and literacy opportunities.

Please work together to protect and support each other's children. Lele Culture Co., Ltd. reserves the right to terminate correspondence for any families who violate the rules or cause harm.
